The latest installment in the Grand Theft Auto series is on the way. Well, it’s “coming soon” with a tentative release date in 2025. That’s not really soon, but I won’t argue semantics. Rockstar Games pushed the reveal of Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of schedule after the trailer leaked online earlier this week, so we now have our first look at the cars that will roam the streets of Vice City in the game. And they look good.
They seem to be a mix of classic and modern, including muscle cars from the ’60s and ’70s, as well as cars from the ’90s. There are exotics and supercars alongside run-down getaway machines. Of course, none of these cars are from the real world. Not exactly.
The cars in Grand Theft Auto games are loosely based on real models, borrowing the design of ubiquitous vehicles that are easily recognizable through certain traits, like a case of virtual rebadging. Here are the cars from the GTA VI trailer, followed by the cars they were seemingly inspired by:
