Is it turbocharged or supercharged? Yes. Well which is it? Exactly.
The Lancia Delta S4 is the pinnacle of Group B wickedness, packing in all of the tricks of the trade that Lancia could into a single design. It’s a big sort of car-shaped piece of fiberglass with a screaming twincharged 2-liter way out in back.
This particular hillclimb monster has been in racing service for its entire life, and has been evolutionarily improved over those decades. It now allegedly makes in the realm of 760 horsepower, and shoots from 0-60 in under 2 seconds. It’s driven by Bruno Ianniello, who is a god among men, and fears nothing (except sharks).
Decades after it was introduced, the S4 is still a force to be reckoned with when it comes to climbing European hills. It’s scary, it’s fast, it’s loud, and it’s occasionally sideways. Give a round of applause for the turbocharged and supercharged Italian blur.
